Virginia A. Browne

Ms Virginia Browne is an experienced employee in the field of Information Management and Documentation. She comes to the Integrity Commission with over three decades of exceptional knowledge and pioneering work in the public and private sectors.

As an educator, Ms. Browne served as a teacher at all three levels – primary, secondary and tertiary – of the education system.  Her education, knowledge and skills were further enhanced by her successful attainment of a Trained Teacher certificate from the University of the West Indies (UWI) (1979).

In several of the Institutions where Ms. Browne has served, she has been credited with   development of the aspect of work to which she is assigned. She exhibited these skills  in the development of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College Library and in her assigned duties in information and records management at the St Kitts-Nevis- Anguilla National Bank.  The Cricket World Cup 2007, where she served as Project Officer with the responsibility for Accreditation, also benefited from her Information management skills and from her business management skills.

Ms. Browne’s credit to the Integrity Commission will not be limited just to the value she brings from her experience, expertise and employment in the Public and private sectors; but additionally, from her deep, long-standing, dedicated involvement with community and non-government organisations.  She has illustrated high levels of leadership and administration skills that saw her ascend to the position of Circuit Steward in the Methodist Church (St. Kitts), and to the presidency of the St. Kitts Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) and the St. Kitts-Nevis Family Planning Association.

Ms. Browne has previously worked in an environment that demands ultimate confidentiality.  Nowhere was that more the case than her previous employment at the SKNA National Bank where she was the custodian of the Records and Archives for seven years.

Virginia has  a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Library Studies (UWI); a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies (UWI);  Certificate in Information Technology (Barbados Community College); Certificate in Teacher Education (UWI).
