    CONFERENCE COMMUNIQUÉ of The Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB)

    We, the Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies (“CCAICACB”), meeting at our Tenth Annual Regional Conference convened in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas under the auspices of the Commonwealth Secretariat with the theme: “Best Practices in implementing Integrity and Anti-Corruption Laws in the Caribbean in the age of Artificial Intelligence.” AGREED AND ADOPTED the following resolutions to: – a. Call upon Caribbean Governments to effectively implement their obligations under both the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and the Inter American Convention Against Corruption; b.     July 05, 2024 – The Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB) wrapped up its highly successful 10th Annual Conference in Nassau, Bahamas.     CCAICACB COMMUNIQUE FORMALISES CALL FOR FULL ORGANISATION OF ANTI-CORRUPTION BODIES IN THE REGION

    The Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB) has reiterated its call for respective Caribbean governments to fully operationalize and sustain their national integrity and anti-corruption bodies. This entails securing adequate accommodation, sufficient financing, and completing the requisite administrative requirements for the bodies to fully function. This was a common theme throughout their recently held conference, in Guyana, as successive countries presented their Annual Reports, highlighting their challenges and in some cases lack of support.     Chairpersons, CEOs, representatives, and Independent Members of the Commonwealth Caribbean Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB), met in Georgetown, Guyana for their recently concluded Annual Conference held from April 17 to 21, 2023.     The 8th annual conference of the Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions & Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB)will be graced with the presence of Commonwealth Secretary-General The Right Honourable Patricia Scotland. She is scheduled to attend the conference’s opening ceremony on Monday 23rd May 2022 at the St Kitts Marriott Hotel and Resort to deliver one of the event’s opening addresses. The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland, QC was born in Dominica. She is the sixth Commonwealth Secretary-General, the second Secretary-General from the Caribbean, and the first woman to hold the post.     The C๐mmonwealtlh Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions & Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB) will be holding its annual conference at St. Kitts’ Marriott Resort from May 23 to 27, 2022.
